Every tradition has its origins. Doomernik yachts as well. Its origins go back to my passion for classic yachts. This passion became a reality when I founded my Doormernik yachts boatyard in 1990. Since then, Doomernik yachts has grown to become an internationally recognized boatyard appreciated by Dragon class enthusiasts and owners alike. New Dragons are built in various versions to race or enjoy a day of cruising at Doomernik yachts.
I hope to meet you soon at our yard.
Last week friday we had a really nice commisioning party for ‘Nostromino’ at the Societé Nautique de Genève and then saturday morning we left for the 123km Bol D’or race with the promisse of winds from 50 to 70 knots arround 18.00 hours. We had beautiful weather and were doing fine in the race and then the forecast kept it’s promisse and gave us gusts up to 62 knots. Thanks to Local hero and crew member Betrand Geiser we had all cloth down seconds before it hit us and we ended doing 11 knots on the rigg only. Helmed by experienced Swedish Helmsman Thomas Lundgvist and Danish Olympic sailor Jesper Bank on sails and trim we did fine and could continou the race arriving at 06.20 sunday morning to finish 29 overall in the 548 boat fleet! ‘Nostromo’ did not even had a scratch and came through the storm in perfect working order! Not bad for a maiden trip!!
Splash down for ‘Nostromino’ in Rolle Switserland on lake Geneva. This is Wally Nano MKII number 004. Next week she will join for the the Bol D’or race!
