Today, with great help from my 87 year old father, we infused the hull of Wally Nano building number 002. By opening the valves the vacuum took care of the rest and sucked the epoxy resin into the carbon/ corecell sandwich hull. After 1 hour and 40 minutes all was filled up and the valves were closed. Give us a few months and 'Little Thilla' will be cruising and racing along the beautiful sunny coast of Mallorca.
Busy times...... We are very happy and proud to announce that we have sold Wally Nano Mark II building no. 003 to a Japanese customer with delivery to Shin Nishinomiya Japan next season.
HKG 57 finishing 3rd at the Lipton cup series in Hong Kong last weekend. Guest on board Andreas Brechbuhl was allowed to helm a bit so he could feel the difference between a Doomernik and the 'other' boats. So now we are very happy to announce that NED 373 'Elfje' winner of the last HK championship will return to Hong Kong and stay there so now there are 3 Doomernik Dragons competing in the Hong Kong fleet. Good luck and fair winds to Andreas and his crew with this fantastic boat.

Today we hoisted the white thing.... That's 120 sq meters of white cloth together with 40 sq meters of mainsail on a 2800kg boat......
Not the most profesional footage ever made but this is me single handed on the first Wally Nano mark II She sails with two fingers on the helm, beautifully balanced and goes like a rocket. Pure high end gentlemans sailing. More to come.....
Today the mast of the first Wally Nano mark II was stepped and we took her to the Real Club Nautico de Palma. A few more small details to take care of tomorrow such as pumping up the mast with hydraulics and putting the sails on the headstay and boom and then we go out for a first trial spin.
Preparation of the full carbon Hall Spars mast in the burning sun while the boat waits.
More pictures of today's work!

What a great time we had in Hong Kong even though we had expected sunny weather and Light warm winds. It turned out to be arround 7 Degrees and very windy. 3 Doomernik Dragons at the start and a great chance for me see the owners of my boats. Great racing and hospitality second to none. We took the silver on NED 373 'Elfje', a 2007 boat still going strong!

78 years difference in age... 2016 Wally Nano next to 1938 Abeking und Rasmussen 50m2 Seefahrtskreuzer. 'Panna Wodna' was originaly delivered to the Polish marine as part of massive order of yachts. She enabled a family to escape to Sweden in '39 where she stayed until 2003 when my good friend and classic yacht soulmate Arthur Viguurs bought her and took her to the Netherlands. Now she will undergo a major refit including a new wooden keel. I am lucky enough to sail her a lot. She is basically a huge Dragon and you steer using one finger in a beat or even let go of the tiller and sit on the foredeck. Stunning German craftsmanship
